Copadichromis sp. "Crown - Mandalawi", female below, is a really royal looking species. Three divers with inflated scuba jackets lift the cage to next decompression stop. Copadichromis sp. "Virginalis mandalawi - Mandalawi" with its flourescent blaze.

   
Sciaenochromis fryeri is not so uncommon at Mandalawi as at many other locations in the lake. Males are constructing small crater nests with only one meter in distance from one nest to another. The elegant Rhoade's Perlmutt at Mandalawi. This variety lacks the yellow hue and has instead got a light violet shimmer and much of turqoise coloration in fins. Labidochromis sp. "Perlmutt - Mandalawi", may be one of the nicest finding from this deep water habitat in Lake Malawi.
