IF FLYING IN FOR A SPECIAL
VISIT....
1. Armke's
Rare Aquarium Fish is located 25-30 minutes from San Antonio
International Airport and about 45-60 minutes from Austin International
Airport. We are about three hours from Houston and about four
hours from Dallas.
2. Armke's
Rare Aquarium Fish will, for a fee, provide pickup and delivery
to San Antonio International Airport. Phone ahead for details.
There are also good rental car facilities at the airport, and
IH-35 is relatively easy to reach from the airport. New Braunfels
is considered part of metropolitan San Antonio, and both cities
are considered prime tourist destination areas in Texas. New Braunfels
is home to Schlitterbahn, the No. 1 rated water park in the U.S.
HOURS OF OPERATION.....
Actual hours of operation are pending at present as Armke's
Rare Aquarium Fish settles into its new environment. Currently,
you may count on us being open from 10-5 weekdays and from 11-6
Saturdays.
The lone customer
entrance and exit is at the front of the building. In rare cases,
a rear entrance may be used. When it is in use, a prominent sign
will be displayed on the stone porch in the front of the building.
WE OPERATE A SHOWROOM,
NOT A STORE.....
Please bear
in mind that we operate a mail order showroom, not a normal "fish
store". Examples of how we differ from a normal store:
A. We have no
prices marked on our aquariums. Prices are in accordance with
our list as you find it here on our web site.
B. We will have
specimens in our tanks which are not for sale or which have been
previously sold and held for customers.
C. At times the
working staff, faced with shipment deadlines, will be forced to
give priority to outgoing fish orders at the expense of walk-in
visitors. We ask for your understanding of this.
D. We have implemented
a "number" system for busy periods. It is designed to
give priority to customers ready to make purchases so that they
do not have excessively long waits for checkout.
THE ARMKE FAMILY BUSINESSES.....
Armke's Rare Aquarium Fish is one of three Armke family businesses which occupy our facilities. When you arrive at our premises, you will likely first note the priced vehicles between our building and the street. Ken and Keegan Armke operate OHI Trading Company, a used car dealership, as a partnership. Once inside the front door of the building, you will notice an inventory of collectible items that are part of Armke's Made-in-Germany Store; the family has been in the German import business for more than 35 years. You will enter and follow a stone walkway through this part of the building to reach the fish area.
