Notes: Richard Riemerschmid (1868-1957) was one of the most prominent artists/designers at the forefront of the Art Nouveau (in Germany, Jugendstil) period in art history. This is an exacting authentic salt-glaze stoneware and pewter replica of a beer stein design he created for the famous old Reinhold Merkelbach factory in Germany. Original dates to the period between 1900-1905 and is of museum quality. This beautiful replica bears the Merkelbach mark on the bottom. Please understand that, due to the hand craftsmanship and special techniques involved, coloration of each piece may vary somewhat from the photo shown here.
