His Majesty by OHI/Gerz, OHI 005

Artist: Pat Ford, an American wildlife painter

Maker: Gerz/Germany, commissioned by OHI; lithographic transfers printed in U.S. and supplied by OHI.

Size: .75 Liters

Material: Stoneware

Lid: Pewter with raised lid inlay with a transfer "portrait" of the featured whitetail buck. The inlay was modeled exclusively for this stein by Gerz master modeller Edwin Breiden. The thumblift is in the shape of double acorns.

Design: Full-color lithograph made from original artwork by Pat Ford. The artwork was commissioned for the stein. The specially created handle is in the shape of a deer antler. The body portrays a large, trophy whitetail buck--His Majesty--in his woodlands home.

Color: The body color is a light gray-blue, with bas relief oak leaf bands. There are 14k gold bands above and below the design.

Text: Only Pat Ford's signature on the body.

Notes: This was the No. 6 and final stein in OHI's American Wildlife Stein Series. Individually numbered, bottom stamped and limited to 2500 pieces worldwide, the stein was produced and sold out in the late 1980s. Original retail price was $125. Secondary market examples command a premium.
