Design: Deep bas relief elegantly portrays the polar bear in his arctic environment, with hand-painted shades of white and blue. Snowflakes surround the stein at the bottom band. The handle has the head and rough shape of a polar bear.

Color: The body color ranges from deep cobalt blue to almost pure white. There are platinum bands around the body of the stein.

Notes: This was the the first in OHI's Great Animals of the World Stein Series. Individually numbered, bottom stamped and limited to 2500 pieces worldwide, the stein was produced and sold out in the 1990s. Original retail price was about $175. Secondary market examples command a premium.
