From the Book, 25 Years of Wurstfest Mugs: "Prior to Wurstfest 1979, Opa's Haus announced that it was sold out of all back-issue Wurstfest mugs--1972 through 1978--with the exception of the 1977 half-liter mug in gray. The same could have been said at the end of Wurstfest 1979, as the 1979 mug sold out just before the end of the festival. Consequently, it has been yet another strong, consistent performer in the aftermarket. Original price as $8.50 for the half-liter size and (I think) $10.95 for the one-liter size. I remember it as (sigh!) being the last of the Wurstfest mugs finished (apply fire-on transfer decoration, load in kiln, fire, unload from kiln) on the Opa's Haus premises. With two kilns each with a capacity of about 36 half-liter mugs, it was more than an achievement to do an edition of 2000 mugs." --Ken Armke
