From the Book, 25 Years of Wurstfest Mugs: "Buoyed by the success of the first-edition effort in 1982, we predictably blundered by over-ordering on the 1983 Goebel Wurstfest Mug. Not only did we increase the edition limit on the mug from 200 to 250 pieces, but we also ordered a 150-piece edition of a matching mini plate. It took about five years to sell the last of the mugs and, as this was written, Opa’s Haus still had about 25 of the mini plates, which—due in part to factory firing flaws—was not a rousing success. Issue price of the mug was $35, and issue price of the plate was $27.50. Theme of the hand-etched design was dining." --Ken Armke
