2011 Dated Wurstfest Mugs, OH5 2011-2B (blue bands) and
OH5 2011-2G (gold edition)

Maker: "Gold Edition" (left) by Thewalt/Germany in special production for OHI Collectibles. Blue-banded (right) produced in Germany under auspices of Thewalt. The lidded stein is identical to the "Gold Edition" mug except for the addition of the 24k gold-plated pewter lid.

Material: Stoneware.

Design: Transfer decoration produced from design expressly created for the 2010 Wurstfest Mug and Stein at OHI’s request by Brent McCarthy, working in behalf of the New Braunfels Art League. McCarthy's original artwork portrays sections of the Wurstfest grounds and symbols of the festival, food--German music--dancing--costumes--fun!

Lid: By special arrangement, the pewter lid is adorned with a plating of real 24k gold. It symbolizes the 50 full years of Wurstfest dating from 1961 to 2011. There is an ornamental thumblift.

Text: Numerals designating the first year of Wurstfest, 1961, and the current year, 2011, are prominent on the front of the design. The lettering "Wurstfest" is incorporated into the upper portion of the stein.

Notes: Total mug edition limited to 850 mugs, 250 cream with gold banding (Gold Edition) and 600 gray with blue banding.Total stein edition limited to 150 steins, all with gold banding on a cream-colored body.
The lidded steins are individually numbered 1 through 150.

Details: The mugs sport the Thewalt logo in the form of an impressed stamp on the bottom. Here's what the original design looks like:
