2013 Dated Wurstfest Mugs, OH5 2013-2B (blue bands) and
OH5 2013-2G (gold edition)

Issued: October 2013

Maker: "Gold Edition" (left) by Thewalt/Germany in special production for OHI Collectibles. Blue-banded (right) produced in Germany under auspices of Thewalt. The lidded stein is identical to the "Gold Edition" mug except for the addition of the pewter lid with porcelain inlay featuring the flags of Texas and Germany and our special little design character.

Size: .5 liter

Material: Stoneware.

Design: Transfer decoration produced from design expressly created for the 2013 Wurstfest Mug and Stein by Ken Armke with help from the OHI staff. It depicts a Texan donning his Lederhosen for his once-a-year opportunity to enjoy the music, dancing, festivities and food offered at Wurstfest.

Lid: The pewter lid features a porcelain inlay with representations of the Texas and German flags, symbolizing the pride New Braunfels has in both its Texas and German heritage. The special ornamental thumblift is in the shape of a beer barrel.

Text: The big banner simply says "Wurstfest" in red-white-blue. The text on the barrel designates "Vintage 2013". Along the bottom is the text "German-style Gemuetlichkeit in New Braunfels, Texas". Gemuetlichkeit translates roughly to "good fellowship in the German manner".
