From the Book, 25 Years of Wurstfest Mugs: "The day Paul Tadlock appeared with the design for the 1995 Wurstfest Mug, it was clear that he was using his character, Fritz, to tell a story quite familiar to many Wurstfest-goers through the years. We called it Fritz Feels Frisky, but a more appropriate name might have been Fritz Gets Hooked. For Wurstfest 1993, Fritz showed up with his pals, had a great time, and overimbibed. In 1994, he met a girl and chased her. Now, in 1995, its clear that he chased her until she caught him. For 1995, we cut the overall edition once again to 1400 total pieces in an effort to give it some additional prestige. For the second band color, we specified manganese, one of the mineral colors used in traditional stein-making. With only 450 pieces ordered, it is one of the scarcest mug varieties in the recent history of the series. Finally, we also elected to reintroduce the cream mug, offered with blue or manganese banding. The gray mug was offered only with blue banding. Issue price of the mug was increased to $22.50. The stein price remained at $75." --Ken Armke
